Remember a couple of months ago when I wanted to reduce the number of movies on my Netflix queue? Well, I'm doing it again. I'm paring down about 150 or so movies to 15 (runnerups will likely be re-added to the queue eventually). Pick your favorite movie out of the following groupings. This list was randomly generated, so there's no particular reason why movie A is in the same group as movie B. Assume I haven't seen a given movie if it's on the list. If you can't vote, but you want to, leave an anonymous comment with your votes.

![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/3339522/810840) need more feedback.. nothing has really taken off except the 13th warrior?
![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/84050395/767962) Yeah, I'll figure it out. When I did this last time, I basically took all the movies with two or more votes. I might have to do that again, but it'll certainly whittle down the list some more.
![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/4029052/810871) You know most of the stuff I would recommend would be the classics or the really solid, well told stories with developed characters. Or something pretty original, like Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid. Its unfair to have that in the same group as Broadcast News because I think you would apperciate that movie. See them both. Or have a Steve Martin night and do Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, The Man With Two Brains, and Parenthood, which is a keeper anyway. I voted for In the Company of Men, but a word of warning: don't watch it with a woman, especially not one you've got the hots for. That movie made me want to crawl under a rock and hide.
![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/10066593/521180) Mind you, in most of those groups I'd seen a maximum of three of the films mentioned, and more usually only one. So I have no room to go, "OMG, you've never seen The Wizard of Oz?!" because after all I've never seen Casablanca or Citizen Kane or Psycho.
![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/84050395/767962) That's not a problem. I'm just trying to get a gauge on what best to pare things down to, then I can start adding again without the thought of "Well, if I add things now, I'll get to see that DVD in six years."
![[User Picture]](https://l-userpic.livejournal.com/8108301/521180) Cable is both a blessing and a curse here -- on the one hand, stuff that you have in the queue is running on various cable channels right now, and when you have it airing right now there's a certain time constraint that keeps you from postponing the way you can when it's a DVD you can just leave lying around for a month. OTOH, I tend to scroll down the channel guide when I'm looking for something to watch on the theory that, "The DVDs will be there when I get around to them, but there might be something about to start that I don't have on disk or video..." and so never get around to some of those DVDs. |
