For a good while on Saturday night, I was up around 25 dollars. I ended the night down six dollars and 75 cents. The turning point was a Screwy Louie hand where I had Jacks full going against Amy who ended up having Kings full. That was a tough beat.

I played tightly the rest of the night, even going so far as to fold a pocket pair of threes in Omaha Hi-Lo after the turn. I had flopped trip treys with QA3. The turn showed a 5, and flattop and sassica both started betting it up. I played it ultra-tight and folded, thinking at least one of them had the wheel. And the fourth 3 showed up on the river.

Come Wednesday, I'm heading to Jackie and Harry's place to join in their book club discussion of The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan. So far, I'm enjoying the book, but I've got such a large stack of things I have to read, not to mention that batnandu wants to recommend yet another book that I neither have nor have read over one that's already in my reading list (the aforementioned Bringing Down the House).

Aside from the wheel you could have put one of them on a check raise, for their trip Aces as well. One of them bets on the draw they might get and the other reraises based on the nut trips. Either way its a smart fold. You had a something like 901:1 chance of catching that three which was the only card that would make your hand worth playing. Omaha sucks. I hate it.
